Sherwyn P. Morreale (PhD, University of Denver) is Director of Graduate Studies in Communication at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. For eight years, she served as Associate Director of the National Communication Association. She has authored or co-authored 24 journal articles, 15 book chapters, and 15 books and monographs, including The Competent Public Speaker (Peter Lang, 2010). Dr. Morreale has presented numerous programs on public speaking and has received the National Communication Association”s highest award for outstanding service to the communication discipline. Brian H. Spitzberg (PhD, University of Southern California) is currently Senate Distinguished Professor in the School of Communication at San Diego State University. He is author, co-author, editor, or co-editor of over 100 scholarly articles, books, and book chapters on communication competence and the dark side of communication. His 1994 co-authored book, The Dark Side of Relationship Pursuit: From Attraction to Obsession and Stalking, won the biennial International Association for Relationship Research Book Award in 1996. J. Kevin Barge (PhD, University of Kansas) is Professor of Communication at Texas A & M University. He is also a tutor for the M.Sc. in Systemic Leadership, a management development program offered by the Kensington Consultation Center Foundation and the University of Bedfordshire. His work has been published in The Academy of Management Review, Management Communication Quarterly, and other journals. He has served on a number of national and international editorial boards for journals such as Human Relations. Barge is a past president of the Central States Communication Association.
