Comfort food refers to any food that can bring you comfort physically, mentally, emotionally and psychologically upon consumption. In other words, this term is used to describe food items and meals that you turn to when you need to feel comforted. Comfort food is comforting because it soothes and relaxes the body to ease feelings of discomfort, it keeps the mind off stress, and it calms your emotions and makes you happy.
