The book is titled ’MY BIG BIRTHDAY PARTY’, it is a 24-page picture book with 1882 words. The story revolves around the lives and experiences of our multi-ethnic twin children and our time living in a small village outside of Doncaster in the UK.
In this book and others in the developing series, our children experiences in this community reveal how accepted they were and how life as children in a white community was always inclusive. It is the first of a series of books that just portrays how social and racial inclusion is and should be just a social normative model filled with acceptance and belonging.
The book message is to show in a very natural organic way, through its narrative and illustrations how from a child’s perspective, the issues of diversity, inclusion and equality are simply embodied in the belief that we are all humans despite our differences.
This poetic narrative is aimed to create positive experiences that create positive change as it quietly yet confidently celebrates social and racial inclusion.
