Inflammation Resolution and Chronic Diseases [PDF ebook]

Apoio

This book provides recent advances in the understanding of the central processes in the resolution of inflammation. It also describes the active, specialized pathways that bring the resolution of inflammation. Further, the book examines the key molecular and cellular events that are involved in the resolution of inflammation processes involved in tissue repair and regain of physiological function. Importantly, it sheds light on the cellular and molecular processes through which conventional inflammatory cytokines control mammalian tissue repair and regeneration. It also explores the perturbation of processes that are involved in the resolution of inflammation with aging and reviews clinical trials of anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory therapies.  Towards the end, the book discusses the role of inflammation in the development and progression of cancer. This book is an invaluable resource for scientists, academicians, and research scholars interested in the latest cutting-edge knowledge in the field of immunology, inflammation, inflammation resolution, and inflammatory diseases.

Sobre o autor

Dr. Anurag Tripathi is working as a Principal Scientist at CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicology Research. He did his Ph.D. from the School of Biotechnology, Banaras Hindu University, on the Immunomodulatory effects of Prolactin and Growth hormone on macrophages. His work contributes to an in-depth understanding of the immunomodulatory, and immunosuppressive effects of common food additives, drugs, and cosmetic ingredients. He has also worked on the tumorigenic potential of mycotoxins and the molecular mechanisms leading to skin cancer. Dr. Tripathi has 16 years of research experience and published 50 articles in peer-reviewed international journals such as Immunology, Molecular Immunology, Molecular Aspects of Medicine, Toxicology Letters, ACS Nano, Toxicology, and Applied Pharmacology, etc. He is a life member of the Indian Nanoscience Society and serves as an editorial board member in several prestigious international journals such as the Journal of Immunology & Serum Biology, SM Journal of Nanotechnology and Nanomedicine, Journal of Toxicology and Forensic cases, and Austin Immunology.
Dr. Shailendra Gupta is a Senior Scientist and Group Leader at the Department of Systems Biology and Bioinformatics, University of Rostock, and Adjunct Professor, Bioinformatics, Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University, Bhilai, India. Shailendra Gupta received his first master’s degree in biological sciences in 1999 from CSJM University, Kanpur India followed by a second degree in computer applications in 2004 from MD University, Rohtak, India. The combination of these two research fields motivated him to pursue an interdisciplinary research path in computational biology. He joined the CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, Lucknow India in 2007 and spent almost seven years working in the area of Computational Toxicology. He received the ‘Young Scientist Award’ from the Council of Science and Technology, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh India in 2011. He finished his doctoral research work in bioinformatics on metabolic pathway modeling in 2013 before joining the Department of Systems Biology and Bioinformatics at the University of Rostock, Germany collaborating Prof Olaf Wolkenhauer. His current research combines bioinformatics and systems biology-based approaches for translational research in systems medicine
Dr. Ashish Dwivedi is a Scientist in the Photobiology Division, CSIR-IITR, a premier Institute of Toxicology Research in India. He has done his Post-Doctoral Research at the Israel Institute of Technology (IIT), Israel, and Colorado University, the US on cancer therapy. He has done his Doctoral Research in the Photobiology Division, Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (IITR), Lucknow. His Doctorate research work was focused on phototoxicity/photosafety assessment of therapeutic drugs, environmental pollutants, and nanotized phytochemicals at ambient UV-R exposure. He has more than ten years of research experience in Photo & Dermal Toxicology and published several articles in reputed journals of Photochemistry & Photobiology, Toxicology, Biomaterials, Hazardous materials, etc. He has also published three edited books in Springer on Photoprotection, Skin Aging, and Neuroprotection.
Dr. Shiv Poojan is a Scientist at Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center, Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, PA, USA. He earned his doctorate degree from CSIR-IITR, India, where his work was focused on to establish a modified method to isolate and culture mouse skin epidermal stem cells and to explore novel approach for Arsenic exposed stem cell selection and toxicity, 3D skin reconstruction to explore tissue regeneration for the study of toxicity and carcinogenesis, to understand the mechanism involved in the tumor formation, genetic alteration after in-utero exposure of Arsenic and to develop diseased tissue model for the mechanistic study. He has thorough experience in the field of Epithelial Stem Cell Biology and Cancer Biology. Currently at Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center, he is working on a rare genetic disease epidermolysis bullosa with a specific aim to identify suitable inhibitor to reduce cancer development in the RDEBSCC patients and to understand RDEB Squamous cell carcinoma development. Before this, he also worked as Postdoc Scientist at National Cancer Center (NCC), South Korea, where he developed modified method for generating i PSCs and Cancer cell i PSCs with lentivirus packaging, transduction/transient m RNA molecule and other plasmid-based transfection to changes the epigenetic profile of the cancer cells and cancer cell reprogramming Sequence to find out novel gene target for drug resistance. He has received prestigious awards as, Carl Storm International Diversity Fellowship at Gordon Research Conference (GRC), Italy (2013). He has also received Rambhau Kulkerny Best Scientist Award for his work “To Isolate, Characterize, and Culture pure-population of Multi-potent Stem Cell from Mouse Epidermis” at Indian Association of Cancer Research (IACR-2010), India.
