Clyde Cremer was born and raised in northeastern Iowa. He served in the US Army and earned a bachelor’s degree in forestry from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, and a master’s degree from the Yale University School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.
