Dee Merian has authored four books. They are all non-fiction stories telling the reader about fellow Americans during the 20th Century. This is her second book of anthologies. Her first book American Mosiac was recommended by Forbes Readers for three years. She mixes stories about celebrities as well as private American citizens. Stories included are Sarah Vaughan, Gorgeous George, Louella Parsons, Sonja Heine, and Patrick Dennis. Other true stories depict Americans during the stressful times of three different wars.
Merian’s previous book FLYING HIGH is about TWA during the pre-jet years when Howard Hughes was their CEO.

Dee Merian is a daughter of newspaper family. During her earlier years she worked as a cub reporter. Possibly that is the reason she is drawn to non-fiction stories. She is a third generation of Santa Monica, California
In recent years she has published four books and written magazine articles for three local monthly magazines.
She has undergraduate degrees from both California and Rhode Island. She earned her masters degree from New York University and a writers certificate from Iowa University
Her professions varied from teaching at Brooklyn College and Bergen College. She has worked as a dietitian and nurse . During her earlier days she was a TWA hostess when Howard Hughes was their CEO.

The stories she has written for this book are all true. They include stories about some famous people and other less know individuals. They tell about Americans during three different wars and some personalities most famous during the 20th century. examples would be: Sarah Vaughan, Sonja Heine, Jack Benny, Gorgeous George, and more.
