Dorothy L. Sayers was a renowned English crime writer, playwright, theologian and translator. In the history of reasoning fiction, Sayers is a great name: she, Agatha Christie and Josephine Tey are known as "Three Heroines of Reasoning"; she is also the only great writer with five works selected to the list of Top 100 most prestigious reasoning fictions in the UK and the US. Murder Must Advertise tells about a story of Victor Dean, an employee of Pym’s Publicity Ltd., who accidentally fell down the stairs and died. The day before his death, Dean just wrote a letter to Pym, the director of the company, to reveal a horror story to be verified, so that Pym hired a private detective, Lord Wimsey, to investigate the matter.
