Dr. N.P. Singh (b. 1957) completed his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in agronomy from the Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221005 in years 1980 and 1984 respectively. He has maintained good academic record throughout his studies and recipient of District Merit Fellowship, BHU Fellowship and Pesticides India Ltd. He has joined in 1984 as a lecturer in the Department of Agronomy, College of Agriculture, North-Eastern Hill University, Medziphema, Nagaland and in 1988 he became a Reader & Head in Department of Agronomy, School of Agril. Science & Rural Development, North-Eastern Hill University, Medziphema, Nagaland. After the establishment of Nagaland University (A Central University) he was on deputation to Nagaland University up to 1996 and he joined later on as a Professor & Head, Department of Agronomy, School of Agricultural Science & Rural Development, Nagaland University, Medziphema, Nagaland. He is a life member of different academic societies in India and abroad. In his fifteen years of teaching experience, he taught different courses in crop production and published 38 research papers, 70 popular and research articles and attended 76 conferences at regional, national and international levels. He has visited to The Netherlands, France, Thailand, and Indonesia for different academic programmes. Presently, he is working as a Principal Scientist & Head, Division of Agronomy, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya-793103, India.
