Apoio

Two young children are spending their first full summer vacation with their
widowed grandmother and her brother, Uncle Joe, in the small town of Bath, North Carolina.
They are not looking forward to staying in the small town. They think they have a
long boring summer ahead. But they learn that their grandmother’s restaurant,
Pirate’s Cove, is being constantly robbed of its supplies. They team up with two
other children from the neighborhood and solve the baffling mystery that even the
police can’t seem to solve. Could some of the things Uncle Joe tells them about
the pirate Blackbeard set them on the right track in solving the Mystery at

Sobre o autor

Elizabeth Deese is an assistant teacher at an elementary school in Belmont, North Carolina.
She has worked with EC children, AIG students and in a regular classroom as well
as teaching in the computer lab for over 16 years. She has the unique ability
to make up stories and tell them to the children without writing them down. She
just tells them ‘off the top of her head’ as she likes to put it. ‘The children
seem to love my stories. I can’t even remember most of the ones I’ve told over
the years. Last year I had a group of youngsters who insisted I write them a
special story. I wrote three fairy tales, but my favorite was the mystery story
called Mystery at Pirate’s Cove. The children encouraged me to publish
this book so they could have a copy. This is my first publication, but I hope it
won’t be my last.’
Before becoming an assistant teacher, Elizabeth worked first as a production
manager and later a general manager for a successful commercial mailing service.
She recalls not liking to write as a child, but as an adult things seem to change
and she found she loved making up stories and writing about things that just
popped into her head!
