Steffen Martus, geboren 1968, lehrt als Professor für Neuere Deutsche Literatur an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Er schreibt regelmäßig für die «Süddeutsche Zeitung», die «Berliner Zeitung» und «Die Zeit». Seine Biographie der Brüder Grimm war für den Preis der Leipziger Buchmesse nominiert, sein Epochenporträt der Aufklärung feierte die «Süddeutsche Zeitung» als «grandiose Kulturgeschichte des 18. Jahrhunderts». 2015 wurde Steffen Martus für sein wissenschaftliches Werk mit dem Leibniz-Preis ausgezeichnet.
