Howard Pyle (1853 – 1911) was an American author, illustrator, and teacher, renowned for his contributions to children’s literature. Born in Wilmington, Delaware, Pyle developed an early interest in writing and illustration, which culminated in a celebrated career that would influence generations of artists and writers.
