Dr. Jatindra N. Bhakta served as Associate Professor and is associated with ICEE, University of Kalyani and Faculty of Agriculture, Kochi University, Japan. He worked as research scholar, was awarded Ph. D. from University of Kalyani, India, and worked as research associates of ICAR, DBT and DST, Govt. of India He was awarded the prestigious JSPS Postdoctoral Research Fellowship by Japan Society for Promotion of Science, Govt. of Japan and worked as Researcher Faculty at the Department of Environmental Engineering and Research Institute of Molecular Genetics, Kochi University, Japan. He has research and teaching experiences on environment, microbiology & probiotic bacteria, carbon sequestration & biofuel production, bioremediation, metagenomic, wastewater treatment & recycling, fisheries & aquaculture, agriculture and environmental pollution. Dr. Bhakta along with other collaborators (>25 researchers from 11 countries) has published more than 60 journal research articles, few book chapters, abstracts and popular articles. He is editorial board member and reviewer of several international journals including Elsevier and Springer Publishers. He successfully handled several projects, organized seminars and conferences, served as research mentor for Ph. D., masters and graduate students and actively associated with some NGO’s especially for environmental conservation and rural socioeconomic development.
