Jim was raised in a small town in Northern New Jersey, only a few miles west of New York City. Although Bergen County. his native home is one of the richest counties in the entire United States his hometown, located in East Rutherford at the southerly end, was and is strictly working class.
Jims daughter, Shawn has experienced a life that is, perhaps more inspiring, and which will also be available in her autobiography. It is titled, In The Blink Of An Eye. Her life had been as carefree and happy as most girls. As a teenager the effervescent Shawn was a golden girl. She achieved All-County awards in high school volleyball, and was popular with both boys and girls.
Her young adult years were devoted to schooling, both in real estate, and both owner/operator of a beauty salon. But fate intervened, and in 2004 she was stricken blind! The tragedy devastated her mother and father, throwing a pall over everyday life.
