Joan Jackson has lived in Alaska for 40 years. “You should write children”s books, ” was an oft heard statement throughout those years, for it seems she has a story for every animal”s actions. Joan loves young children, children”s literature, animals, and everything about Alaska. All of these interests are combined in this tale of an Alaska husky dog, her first book for children. Joan studied writing at Alaska Pacific University under Dr. Jane Evanson, who has assisted many students in publishing their writings. Ms. Jackson has taught English Composition classes at the University of Alaska Anchorage and now works as a tutor in the Writing Center at Alaska Pacific University. She and her husband live in Anchorage and have three grown children, two grandchildren, and two dogs.
