For years, Ruth Carson and her friend Angie enjoyed being in the summer musical theatre productions of St. Paul’s Como Pavilion Players, directed by Fritz Gerhardt. This year, however, something sinister is happening to the tight-knit amateur theatre group. A serial killer is targeting the cast. Who is the attacker? Why? And who will be next? Unfortunately, Ruth, Angie, and everyone else in the company is at risk because ‘the show must go on!’

Judith Johnson, who lives with her husband and cat in rural Stillwater, Minnesota, has been performing in summer musicals at St. Paul’s Como Lakeside Pavilion for many years. It all started in 1981 when her eldest daughter was in The Sound of Music and the director needed more nuns. Judith was hooked! She has sung her heart out on that stage many times since, always as a member of the chorus and often joined by her children and grandchildren. This mystery (because she loves a good mystery) was written out of love for the directors, actors, musicians, and helpers who, every summer at the pavilion, say with gusto, ‘Break a leg!’
