Dr. Amin Akhnoukh earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt (1997), M.S. in Civil Engineering from Kansas State University, Kansas, USA (2005), and Doctorate in Construction Engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Nebraska, USA (2009). Currently, Dr. Akhnoukh is an associate professor in the Construction Management Department, East Carolina University, North Carolina, USA.
Dr. Akhnoukh research interests include bridge management systems, infrastructure improvement by using advanced technologies as remote sensing, Internet of things, high performance materials, and 3D printing of concrete. Dr. Akhnoukh has published more than 65 refereed publications including book chapters, proceedings books, research reports, journal articles, and conference proceedings.
Kamil Kaloush is a FORTA professor of Pavement Engineering in the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment, affiliate faculty in the School of Sustainability, and co-founder of the National Center of Excellence on SMART Innovations. He is a registered professional engineer and has over 35 years of industrial and academic experience. He received his Ph.D. degree from Arizona State University and M.S. and B.S. degrees from the Ohio State University. His areas of expertise include pavement materials design, thermal properties, advanced laboratory testing, field performance evaluation, and pavement management systems.
Dr. Souliman, P.E. is the Ronald D. Brazzel Endowed professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at Tyler. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. from Arizona State University in Civil, Environmental, and Sustainable Engineering focusing on Pavement Engineering. His research interests are focused on pavement materials design, fatigue endurance limit, advanced pavement laboratory characterization, field performance evaluation, maintenance and rehabilitation techniques, pavement management systems, cement treated bases, statistical analyses, modeling, and computer applications in civil engineering.
Carlos M. Chang, Ph.D., P.E., is an associate professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Florida International University (FIU). Prior to joining FIU in August 2020, Dr. Chang was an associate professor at the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and associate researcher at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI). Dr. Chang has a Civil Engineering degree from the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería (UNI) in Perú and a Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degree from Texas A&M. Dr. Chang is registered as a professional engineer in Florida, Texas, and Perú, and he is recognized as an international consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and private engineering companies. Dr. Chang’s professional experience include sustainable pavement design and evaluation, quality control, road maintenance and rehabilitation, pavement, and asset management.
