Does the intensified endeavour to achieve security in Europe conflict with the preservation of civil rights and liberties? Or is the new direction that civil rights and liberties are currently taking a philosophical, societal imperative? Is an interest in a free society supplanting the hard-won liberty of the individual? Prof. Dr. Prof. h.c. Arndt Sinn ist Gründer und Direktor des Zentrums für Europäische und Internationale Strafrechtsstudien und lehrt Deutsches und Europäisches Straf- und Strafprozessrecht, Internationales Strafrecht sowie Strafrechtsvergleichung an der Universität Osnabrück. Er ist Verfasser zahlreicher Aufsätze und Bücher zur Organisierten Kriminalität sowie Mitglied im wissenschaftlichen Beirat zum SOCTA Bericht Europols.
