RICHARD STEWART received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in communications from the University of Michigan and was a Teaching Fellow while in graduate school. After a brief career in showbusiness, he enjoyed a long career as an executive in the furniture manufacturing industry. Upon retiring to Arizona, he again enjoyed teaching communications at the University of Phoenix for over a decade and started writing. He and his wife call themselves “animal freaks.” They have had a walk-in aviary of cockatiels and cockatoos, as many as three dogs at once, and they were long-time foster parents to a Capuchin Monkey from infancy to 13 years before his training in the Helping Hands: Monkey Helpers for the Disabled program.
