With its beginnings in a Facebook page called ‘Bolti Khidki: The Speaking Window’, now being conceptualized as a book, this is an important work with the premise that people are humane in their natural state; that among the stories of bloodshed and rape that Partition is most remembered for, there are also stories of religious tolerance and mutual respect. There are also numerous cases of people being given shelter, among all the carnage that took place, by those belonging to other religions, other faiths. This book captures not just memories, but also the resilience of those who suffered and emerged stronger.
