However, we feel that any further delay in the publication of this volume would be harmful to the interest of both readers and authors. The various chapters cover the following main aspects : technological developments and their use in preservation of viability/stability of fungi; synecological approach in epidemiology; application of shigometer for assessing tree health and wood product quality; detection of seed-bonu: fungi, mycoplasma like organisms; diagnostic techniques of plant mycoplasmas, viro ids and viruses; biocontrol of fungal diseases; use of Agro bacterium for gene transfers and crop improvement; plant quarantine and its strategic use in disease management The chapters have been written by subject matter specialists and provide the latest in technological developments.
