Shane Pill is the author of the popular Play with Purpose: Game sense to sport literacy. He has taught physical education since 1988 in schools in Western Australia and South Australia, and since 2006 has worked in the School of Education at Flinders University where he has coordinated the core Primary Degree (R-7) Health and Physical Education topic.
Shane has established a national profile as a popular physical education professional learning presenter and published internationally on Game Sense sport teaching and coaching. He contributed to the development of ACHPER (SA) publications Active Children and Pick Up & Run Volume 3. His most recent publication Play with Purpose: Developing game sense in AFL footballers showed how Australian football could be taught by foregrounding game intelligence. Shane also contributed to the writing of Cricket Australia’s game-centred S’Cool Cricket resource and Tennis Australia’s game-centred Hot Shots resource.
