This book begins with an introduction to urban studies and urbanization. It provides an analysis of the patterns of urbanization which are essential for an understanding of the internal structure and development of towns in Cameroon. Furthermore, the spatial distribution and growth strength of towns in Cameroon is examined followed by discussions on urban hierarchy and the sub-urbanization process of the country since 1976. The focus turns to the features linked to urbanization in Cameroon and the growth prospects of selected towns in the country.
