In the book titled On the Banks of River Godavari, the author presents his random and outside-the-box thoughts in the form of short stories and essays. In Sardines for Dinner, he introduces an educated couple with socialist ideas. In Turtle Patrol, he narrates the daily patrol of a pet box turtle named Gopal along with other turtles in the backyard.

Subba Rao was born in Pineappleville, alias Visakhapatnam, a coastal town on the eastern seaboard in South India. The author was born into a Hindu Brahman family that often refers to ancient mythologies to understand puzzling current events. He believes that events in human history from the ancient past repeat themselves again and again with actors changing all the time at different venues on earth. Mr. Rao strongly believes that the lack of outrage among people that witness crime is a crime in itself. Rao published “Curry Goat and Calypso” in 2012, “From Donkey’s Mouth” in 20013, and “Dolphin Nose” in 2014. The author currently lives in Fernandina Beach, Florida.
