About the author


Robin George Collingwood (1889-1943) was a British scholar best known for his book The Idea of History. Over his lifetime, Collingwood authored 19 books, some published posthumously. Educated at Oxford, he was elected to a fellowship at Pembroke College and later became Waynfleete professor of metaphysical philosophy.
