Raoul Martinez ist Schriftsteller, Maler und preisgekrönter Filmproduzent. Freedom ist sein erstes Buch. Es entstand nach über zehn Jahren Forschungsarbeit. Der erste Teil seiner gleichnamigen Dokumentationsreihe The Lottery of Birth (2012) wurde als Beste Dokumentation für das London Raindance Film Festival nominiert und gewann 2012 den Artivist Spirit Award beim Artivist Festival in Hollywood. Seine Kunst wurde u.a. in der National Portrait Gallery in London ausgestellt. Raoul Martinez lebt und arbeitet in London.
