LUNDGREN is an independent consultant andtrainer for both government and industry who specializes incommunicating environmental, safety, and health risks, and is aformer research scientist for the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland, Washington. Her publications have wonnational awards for their usability. She has led risk communicationefforts for a variety of environmental, safety, and health issues, including Superfund cleanup, cancer cluster investigation, andbioterrorism planning as well as helped design risk assessmentmodels for stakeholder use.
ANDREA H. Mc MAKIN is a communication specialist at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland, Washington. Sheworks with government and industry clients on communicating risksand other information concerning science, technology, and business.She’s contributed to risk communication programs involving cancerclusters, health and environmental impacts from waste and Superfundsites, international nuclear and biological safety, worker chemicalexposure, global climate change, and risk perception research.
