Reynold Alleyne Nicholson, born on August 18, 1868, in Keighley, West Yorkshire, was a renowned English orientalist, scholar of both Islamic literature and Islamic mysticism, and widely recognized for his scholarly contributions to the study of Sufism. He served as the Sir Thomas Adams Professor of Arabic at the University of Cambridge from 1902 to 1933.
