Ring Lardner, Sr. (1885-1933) was an American sports journalist, short-story writer, and playwright. His humorous, satirical fiction made him something of an American icon. He is best remembered for his collections You Know Me, Al and Gullible”s Travels, and for the play June Moon, based on one of his stories and co-written with George S. Kaufman.
