It represents a history of Greek philosophy in ancient times, along with the reference to the influence that ancient thought had on the development of modern philosophy. Stretching from early Greek thought to Neo-Platonism, the survey covers the works of Greek Humanist, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, The Stoics, Epicurus, The Sceptics and Eclectics, Plotinus and more.
Despre autor
Alfred William Benn (1843-1915) was an agnostic and an honorary associate of the Rationalist Press Association. He was the author of The Greek Philosophers, The History of English Rationalism in the Nineteenth Century, and The History of Ancient and Modern Philosophy. Benn was also a member of the London Positivist Society and a friend of the lawyer and positivist Vernon Lushington.
