Pages of a weathered original sonata manuscript – the gift of a Czech immigrant living in Queens – come into the hands of Meta Taverner, a young musicologist whose concert piano career was cut short by an injury. Bradford Morrow is an American novelist, editor, essayist, poet, and children's book writer, and has taught at Princeton, Brown and Columbia universities. Professor of literature and Bard Centre Fellow at Bard College and winner of a Guggenheim Fellowship, he is the founding editor of Conjunctions literary magazine. He lives in New York City.
