The Hydro has arrived. Massive dams are being built to constrain the lochs and rivers. The Hydro Electric Scheme is taking root, strengthening its concrete grip as old Highland ways yield to the demands of modernity. But some traditions die harder than others and some people are harder to placate and in many of the conflicts fuelled by the Hydro’s presence, Donald finds himself with a foot in both camps. But he knows that despite what some may wish for, the Hydro is here to stay.
