The U.S. energy service company (ESCO) industry is an example of a private sector business model where energy savings are delivered to customers primarily through the use of performance-based contracts. ESCO has largely been a successful model for the cost-effective delivery of energy-efficient technologies and services to public/institutional sector customers. This book analyzes the market size, growth projections and industry trends in ESCO, drawing on information from interviews with ESCO executives conducted in late 2012.
