Across the River presents the lovingly detailed memoir of author Ellen Johnsons mother, Ann Reynalds. Ellen Johnson is originally from Trinidad and Tobago. She has held many different positions including bartender, waitress, and practical nurse. Her experience as a practical nurse has inspired her to further pursue her medical studies. A single parent, she now lives in New York City.
