Le Renoncement au Voyage selects representative works from his travel notes, in which Gide severely criticizes the colonial policy of France and reveals the inevitable evil consequences of the colonial system. In Gide’s creation of travel notes, there is not only expression of his personal feelings, but also full political enthusiasm and sincere humanitarianism spirit. It occupies a very important position in his whole creative career. "Splendid Translations" is a brand new book series launched by Shanghai Translation Publishing House. The book series is of clear theme and published in volumes with 5 works in each volume. Each volume has a beautiful cover in line with the theme style and the covers are designed by Mr. Zhou Weiwei, an excellent designer of the new generation.
