Linde Salber, geb. 1944 in Tütz (Pommern), promovierte Diplompsychologin und Psychotherapeutin, arbeitete als Akademische Oberrätin an der Universität zu Köln. Ihr Forschungsschwerpunkt sind die Zusammenhänge zwischen Lebensgeschichte und künstlerischem Schaffen. Linde Salber war die letzte Analysandin Dorothy Tiffany Burlinghams und hat zusammen mit Anna Freud deren Beiträge zur Psychoanalyse des Kindes ins Deutsche übersetzt.Für rowohlts monographien schrieb sie die Bände über Anaïs Nin (1992), Frida Kahlo (1997), Marlene Dietrich (2001) und Salvador Dalí (2004); bei Rowohlt erschienen außerdem «Der dunkle Kontinent» (2006) und «Tausendundeine Frau» (1996).
