Sir John Arthur Thomson (1861-1933) was a Scottish naturalist, most interested in zoology but known for his writings on the reconciliation of science and religion. His best-known works include Outline of Science (1922), What is Man? (1923), and Science and Religion (1925). He was knighted in 1930.
