In this gripping ‘out of the frying pan and into the fire’ action adventure story, Ben, bullied by the dreaded Fug and the Thumps, runs away from home and finds himself stuck on a tiny island of holiday homes when his kayak floats off without him. He has to survive on the things he can scavenge from the empty holiday homes and work out a way to get rescued. As he struggles to attract attention from the shore, he has time to think over how Fug controls the school, and eventually comes up with a solution … if only he can get back to the mainland.

Malachy Doyle has written over a hundred books, from picture books to teenage novels. His books have won the Nestle Smarties Prize, the Tir na n-Og Award and the English Association Award.
