Here is a compelling portrait of Cardinal Wolsey, one of the most powerful figures of the early 16th century. This volume examines his life, accomplishments, and his fall from grace with King Henry VIII. Historian Mandell Creighton, also a man of government, skillfully tells the story of the ambitious and powerful Wolsey, making this an invaluable biography for students of English history.
