Her books include The Word in the World: Evangelical Writing, Publishing, and Reading in America, 1789-1880 (2004); Testing Prayer: Science and Healing (2012); The Healing Gods: Complementary and Alternative Medicine in Christian America (2013); and Debating Yoga and Mindfulness in Public Schools: Reforming Secular Education or Reestablishing Religion? (2019).Mark Silk is professor of religion in public life and director of the Leonard Greenberg Center for the Study of Religion in Public Life at Trinity College. He is the author of Unsecular Media: Making News of Religion in America (1995) and coeditor of Religion by Region, an eight-volume series on religion and public life in the United States, among others.
