‘This is my story. Hi, I’m Mike Harmon, a former Kentucky State Representative and former Kentucky Auditor of Public Accounts, and this book discusses how I tried to be a Christ-Center Conservative in a fallen world as well as additional ramblings from this Don Quixote Statesman.’
Mike Harmon was elected to Kentucky Auditor of Public Accounts in 2015 in an historic upset of incumbent Auditor Adam Edelen. He served for eight years where he ‘Followed the Data’ to make sure government was efficient, effective and ethical.
PRIOR TO HIS TIME AS AUDITOR, MIKE SERVED IN THE KENTUCKY HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES FOR THIRTEEN YEARS, REPRESENTING THE CITIZENS OF BOYLE, CASEY, AND WASHINGTON COUNTY. THOUGH A DEDICATED PUBLIC SERVANT, NOTHING IS MORE IMPORTANT TO MIKE THAN HIS FAITH AND HIS FAMILY.
Mike has always been humbled by JOHN 3:16: ‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.’ God’s love letters to mankind in His words, that we fondly know as the Bible.
In much the same way, Mike’s ‘Pa Paw’s POV’ (point of view), is his lasting love letter to his wife, his children, and especially his grandchildren. Mike is blessed to be married to Lynn (Peaches to their grandchildren) for more than 34 years (as of 2024). They have two daughters, Lizzie and Tori as well as son-in-law (Mah). Mike is also a proud grandfather (Pa Paw) to his grandsons, Aiden and Ha Moody.
This book communicates how blessed Mike feels. It tells the stories of sadness and joy, defeat and victory, and his attitude, like the movie ‘Galaxy Quest’ – Never Give Up, Never Surrender
