Assoc. Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohamed Thariq Bin Haji Hameed Sultan is currently attached with Universiti Putra Malaysia as the Head of Biocomposite Technology Laboratory (BIOCOMPOSITE) Institute of Tropical Forestry and Forest Products (INTROP), UPM Serdang, Selangor, Malaysia. Being the Head of Biocomposite Technology Laboratory, he is also appointed as an Independent Scientific Advisor to Aerospace Malaysia Innovation Centre (AMIC) based in Cyberjaya, Selangor, Malaysia. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Sheffield, UK, and is a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered under the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), Professional Technologist (P.Tech.) registered under the Malaysian Board of Technologists and also a Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) registered with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers UK. He has about 10 years of experience in teaching as well as in research. His area of research interests includes hybrid composites, advance materials, structural health monitoring and impact studies. So far, he has published more than 100 international journal papers, published 5 books internationally and received many awards locally and internationally. He was awarded as Leaders in Innovation Fellowship (LIF) by the Royal Academy of Engineering (Raeng), UK, in December 2017 and is also the Honourable Secretary of Malaysian Society of Structural Health Monitoring (MSSHM) based in UPM Serdang, Selangor, Malaysia. Currently, he is also attached to the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) as the Chairman in the Engineering Education Technical Division (E2TD). He was also appointed as Panel Evaluator for Engineering Accreditation Council Malaysia (EAC) and Engineering Technology Accreditation Council (ETAC).]
Ir. Dr Mohd Shukry Abdul Majid is an Associate Professor at the School of Mechatronic Engineering, Universiti Malaysia Perlis. He received his Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineeringfrom the University Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) in 2001. Upon his return to Malaysia, he worked as a research and development (R&D) Engineer at a semiconductor industry before joining Universiti Malaysia Perlis (Uni MAP) as a Lecturer in 2004. He completed his M.Sc. in Mechanical Systems Engineering from the University of Liverpool in 2005 and his Ph.D. in Composite Engineering from Newcastle University, UK, in 2011. An advocate of interdisciplinary research, his research interests are composite piping, looking at the performance of composite structures, NDE’s of composites and natural fibre/green composites, hybrid reinforced/filled polymer composites, lignocellulosic reinforced/filled polymer and biodegradable composites. He has authored 149 Scopus indexed publications with 32 publications in ISI-ranked journals. Ir. Dr Mohd Shukry has been honoured with numerous local and international awards for his achievements including ITEX, MTE and PECIPTA, and is the first recipient from Technical University Network (MTUN) to have been awarded Malaysia’s Research Star Award 2017, as one of Malaysia’s most promising and influential researchers by the Ministry of High Education Malaysia (MOHE).
Ir. Dr Mohd Ridzuan Mohd Jamir is currently working as a Senior Lecturer at Universiti Malaysia Perlis (Uni MAP), Arau, Perlis. He received his Ph.D. from Universiti Malaysia Perlis (Uni MAP) Malaysia, and his M.Eng. and B.Eng. from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Johor Baharu, Malaysia. His area of research interests is in studying natural fibre composites and looking at the performance of composite structures and tribological properties, hybrid reinforced/filled polymer composites, lignocellulosic reinforced/filled polymer and biodegradable composites. So far, he has more than 80 research articles in renowned international journals, proceedings and review papers and serves as a reviewer for several reputable high-impact ISI journals and international conferences.
Dr. Azwan Iskandar Azmi is currently working as a Senior Lecturer at Universiti Malaysia Perlis (Uni MAP), Malaysia. He received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, USA, and master’s degree in Advanced Manufacturing Technology from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He completed his doctoral study at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, in Mechanical Engineering in 2012 and has more than 10 years of experience in teaching, research, and industries. His area of research interests includes machining and machinability of carbon, glass, and their hybrid composites, as well as difficult-to-cut metal alloys such as titanium, Inconel, and nickel-titanium (Ni Ti) alloys. So far, he has more than 100 research articles in renowned international journals, proceedings and review papers, and serves as a reviewer for several reputable high-impact ISI journals and international conferences.
