Petethra’s Secret is another good book by fourteen-year-old Reagan Roy and nine-year-old Madison Roy, author of books for young readers. Petethra’s Secret is a short story. The Roys spend some time at the beginning of the book developing Petethra’s character, which helps the reader empathize with Petethra’s internal struggle of being different and dealing with sickle cell anemia.

Reagan started writing when he was eleven, and Madison started writing when she was only seven. They wrote a comic about a boy with Leukemia. Reagan, now thirteen, is in the eighth grade. Madison, age nine, is in the fourth grade. They live in Louisville, Kentucky. They have decided to write this book, entitled, “Flower: A Girl With Leukemia, ” a realistic fiction.
Reagan and Madison Roy are the recipients of the Store-Level Winner of the Kohl’s Kids Who care Scholarship Program. Reagan received the award in 2009, and Madison received the award in 2011. Kohl’s award is given in recognition of outstanding volunteer efforts and contributions within the community.
