Tommie Sue Montgomery has been traveling, occasionally living and teaching, and doing research in Latin America since 1976. With a M.A. from Vanderbilt University and a Ph.D. from New York University, she has spent over 40 years conducting research in El Salvador and is the author of three books and numerous articles on the country. She has also lived in Mexico, Belize, Nicaragua, and Argentina. Dr. Montgomery has received three Fulbright grants and, in 2013, was honoured by her alma mater, Wesleyan College in Georgia, for ‘distinguished achievement in a profession.’
