This monograph provides the first comprehensive documentation of Tillich’s journey, highlighting the political context and the itinerary of his visit. Moreover, Tomoaki Fukai presents the manuscripts of Tillich’s lectures, his conversations with leading Buddhists in Kyoto, and his correspondence with his Japanese hosts.
