From August 6 to 16, 2024, five hardy pilgrims set out to climb Mont Blanc in the Western Alps of Europe.. The trek was extremely difficult, filled with almost unbelievable obstacles. For ten days, through France, Italy and Switzerland, these bold and courageous adventurers faced incredible challenges on the circuit around the highest mountain in western Europe.
Over the course of several days, the hikers braved the heights of the Alps to accomplish their mission. The route ran through the foothills, where climbs of 2, 000 meters (6, 500 feet) were common. At the same time, the descents were nearly as steep over the course of 150 kilometers (93 miles). The final elevation gain was 8, 839 meters (20, 000 feet). Exeptionally long and dangerous climbs and descents were part of the journey.
Some of these hazards were caused by stone paths and roots on the road that obstructed and hindered the roadway. Similarly, the deep ravines along the edge of the road made the stages of the road problematic. These obstacles often increased with the climatic changes typical of high altitudes.
Despite the many inconveniences that plagued and hindered the routes along the way, the adventurers found solace and untold fortune in the beauty of the place. The landscapes, which included incredible mountains, beatiful glaciers, lakes, fjords, and a great variety of trees and wildlife, were of incalculable beauty..
