“A traveller in little things . . . which takes you into the villages and hamlets, where you meet and converse with small farmers . . . with other persons who live on the land.” This is a stranger’s astute description of W. H. Hudson during one of his rambles around England—his experiences charmingly captured in this travel narrative.
