This book is a collection of appreciation and analysis of the works of Li Qingzhao, a famous female Ci poet of the Song Dynasty. Since not many works of the author remain, this book includes all of them. Li Qingzhao was good at writing euphemistic and graceful poems, with elegant, sentimental, and popular words, as well as impassioned and full of enthusiasm. The author of this book has annotated the works of Li Qingzhao in some detail, and some of the annotations do not directly explain the Ci-poetry, but invent them by quoting previous poems, which is a traditional way of annotation. The text of the commentary is widely quoted, reflecting the author’s considerable knowledge. The commentaries on Li Qingzhao’s works by literary figures of the past generations help readers to understand the works and the Ci poet in three dimensions.
