Dr. Yvette E. Pearson is Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at The University of Texas at Dallas and Founder and Principal Consultant of The PEER Group, LLC. Her university-based and consulting efforts have led to over $40 million in grant funding to support projects focused on the engagement and success of students from minoritized and marginalized identities. A Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), her work has led to changes in policies and practices to advance equity and inclusion in ASCE and other global organizations. Dr. Pearson has been an invited speaker for events hosted by organizations such as the National Academy of Engineering, the UN Foundation, Brookings Institution, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the World Federation of Engineering Organizations and numerous universities. She has been featured or quoted in media outlets such as Media Planet, Dallas Morning News, Houston Chronicle, and Diverse: Issues in Higher Education.A registered Professional Engineer, Dr. Pearson’s awards and honors include ASCE’s Professional Practice Ethics and Leadership Award, ABET’s Claire L.
