Although
Robert Frost (March 26, 1874 – January 29, 1963) was born in San Fransisco, he lived abroad in Great Britain for several years before returning to New England.  The rural life of 1900s New England inspired his best poetry, and he received four Pulitzer Prizes for his writing.
