A.J. Griffith-Jones è una storiografa e genealogista con un interesse speciale nei confronti dell»epoca vittoriana e i suoi gialli. Dopo aver vissuto e lavorato in Cina per dieci anni, oggi A.J. vive a Shropshire, in Inghilterra. È appassionata di cucina e ama viaggiare e nuotare. Il suo libro d»esordio, «Prisoner 4374», è il risultato di dieci anni di ricerche sulla vita del dottor Thomas Neill Cream, il famoso avvelenatore di Lambeth sospettato anche per gli omicidi firmati da Jack lo Squartatore. Con il romanzo «The Villagers» pubblicato nel 2016 A.J. conquista una discreta fama e si cimenta nella scrittura di una collana di libri di cui fanno parte anche «Gente di mare» e «La congrega».
